“I don’t think I would ever have started working out if it wasn’t for the Sonic Boom program.”

Exercise had never been part of Pamela Bye’s life, and she certainly didn’t consider herself athletic. However, so many years of inactivity were taking a toll on her health. She had been on blood pressure medication for years, and her numbers weren’t getting any better.
Pamela decided to give the Sonic Boom program a try, and from day one she was hooked.
“I started walking with the Sonic Boom program during my lunch breaks and after work. And after several months of walking, I decided to join the gym and get into shape.”
When free health screenings and the WebMD Health Questionnaire were offered with an incentive, Pamela jumped at the chance. Knowing she could receive additional points through the Sonic Boom program for taking WebMD health coaching calls, she started speaking with a health coach right away. Working with her health coach, Pamela learned to focus on one or two specific goals at a time, make better food choices, and fine-tune her exercise program.
Right after her first call with her health coach, Pamela reviewed her health screening results with her doctor. At that time, her doctor recommended that Pamela add a second blood pressure medication to the one she was already taking.
But Pamela knew she was doing the right thing by being physically active, and she wanted to see if exercise and health coaching could improve her numbers without adding a new medication. She asked her doctor to wait two months before making any changes to her medication.
Two months later, Pamela’s blood pressure had dropped from 140/110 to 120/70.
“My doctor was thrilled to see the huge drop in my numbers! He even told me that if my numbers stayed low for one year that he may take me off my medication completely.”
Now, Pamela works out five days a week, her blood pressure is under control, and she’ll soon have her weight under control.
“My goal is to lose 50 pounds by August 1, 2012. I will soon be exponentially healthier than I could ever imagine being. I recently started working out with a personal trainer to increase my exercise efforts toward reaching my goal. I love working out and can’t believe I never did it before now. I don’t think I would ever have started working out if it wasn’t for the Sonic Boom program.”
