LTD Benefit Summary

Below is a summary of  the LTD Plan. This summary is not intended to fully describe your coverage. In the event of any discrepancy between this summary and the official plan documents, the official plan documents will govern.

  • Premium contributions: 100% of the premium is paid by the Company.
  • Benefit: 65% of your basic monthly earnings (less other benefits or earnings you receive).
  • Maximum benefit: $17,500 per month.
  • Minimum benefit: $50 per month.
  • Elimination period: 52 weeks.
  • Benefit duration: To your normal retirement age under the Social Security Act (or possibly later, if you become disabled after your normal retirement date while still working for the Company) or the date you are no longer disabled. Disabilities resulting from a mental disorder will only be covered for a specified period of time. See Maximum Period of Payment.
  • Exclusions: In some circumstances, your disability may not be covered by the plan. See Exclusions and Limitations

Note: if you became disabled prior to January 1, 2017, your LTD benefits are based on the plan provisions that were effective at the time you became disabled.

State-specific requirements may apply to LTD coverage

There are state-specific requirements that may change the provisions described here. If you live in a state that has such requirements, those requirements will apply to your coverage(s) and are made a part of your plan.
