Legal Insurance

Legal insurance is an affordable way to find and work with an attorney for a variety of legal matters. Coverage is provided through ARAG, who has a nationwide network of attorneys.

With legal insurance, you can talk to an attorney in person or by phone, and when you use ARAG network attorneys, most covered services are paid in full. You also have access to online resources and legal documents.

Legal insurance covers a variety of personal legal matters including, but not limited to:

  • Estate planning—standard will, living will, and power of attorney.
  • Consumer issues—contractor disputes, buying or selling a car, auto repairs, and consumer fraud.
  • Family law—adoption, pre-marital agreements, divorce, elder law, guardianship, and school hearings.
  • Real estate—buying or selling a home, foreclosure, building codes, and neighbor disputes.
  • Taxes—IRS tax audit and collection.
  • Traffic without DUI—traffic tickets, restoration of driver’s license after suspension or revocation.

For details on all the covered services, see What’s Covered

You may enroll yourself and your eligible dependents for legal insurance when you are first hired and during the annual Open Enrollment period. Eligible dependents include your spouse or domestic partner and unmarried children under age 26.

Your cost for legal insurance is $8.00 per pay period. The cost is the same for employee only coverage and family coverage, regardless of how many dependents are enrolled.
