Long Term Care (LTC) is the type of care needed by someone who can't independently perform basic activities of daily living because of accident, illness, or advancing age. Your Long Term Care Plan is an optional benefit to protect you and your family if assisted living or a stay in a nursing home is needed. Before the plan begins paying benefits, you or your covered dependent must satisfy a 90-day elimination period. You pay the full cost of this coverage.
